Carefully-selected passages serve as springboards for discussion on topics that appeal to the interests of high school students. Comprehension exercises, discussion questions, creative writing prompts, and individual and cooperative activities follow each reading selection. Vocabulary exercises are presented almost exclusively in Spanish. Before and after reading, students are provided with guided questions to help them think critically about the passage.
